In US news and current events today, grocery stores are holding special hours for senior shoppers so they can stock-up safely amid COVID-19.

Shops in Ireland, Australia, and the U.S. are holding ‘elderly only’ shopping hours to mitigate shortages caused by panic-buying.

Australian grocery chain Woolworths, announced it would be opening their doors an hour early to exclusively let elderly and disabled folks shop more safely. Despite efforts, older shoppers still faced long lines and shortages even during the hour allocated for senior customers.

U.S. chain Dollar General, announced similar plans for senior customers.
