Advanced Cardio Workout For Seniors (Fitter in 5 – 5-Mins) | More Life Health

Join me (Mike – Physiotherapist) for this 5-minute advanced cardio workout for seniors, using light hand weights to help you to improve your cardiorespiratory fitness and muscular endurance.

This workout is more advanced, so if you still have work to do on your balance, skip this one for now.
Go at your own pace! You can also go through this routine more times if you’re feeling extra keen.

12 MINUTE STRENGTH, BALANCE AND A STRETCH EXERCISE FOR SENIORS

Hey everyone,
After weeks of working on exercises for specific body parts. This week we are going to work the whole body covering strength endurance, balance and will finish with a posture stretch

EXERCISES
Warm Up – Marching on the Spot – 30 seconds
Squats x 20 (Can do Sit-Stand or Knee extensions as alternative)
Alternate Shoulder press x 20 each arm
Hip Abductions x 15 each leg
Tandem Stand x 30 seconds each leg
Hip Flexions (balance) x 5 each leg with 2 second holds
Seated Posture stretch – 30 seconds

(To get straight into the exercise go to 0.48 seconds ).

BALANCE AND LEG EXERCISES FOR SENIORS// SENIORS BALANCE WORKOUT

This week we are going to go through a balance workout, because it has a been a while since we have practiced it!

If you stay consistent with your balance exercises your balance WILL improve.

Balance Workout
Warmup – Marching on Spot – 30 seconds
Leg lifts to front (hip flexions) x 5 each leg
Tandem stance – 20 seconds each leg
Single leg stance – 20 seconds each leg
Squats x 5
Rest
Leg lifts to front (hip flexions) x 8 each leg
Tandem stance – 30 seconds each leg
Single leg stance – 30 seconds each leg
Squats x 5
